About Us
Sigma Chi is the premier leadership development fraternity in the nation, and our local chapter strives to build strong men and a strong brotherhood. We are the most active house on campus, with ASUCD Senator Trevor Taylor, ASUCD Lobby Corps Director Chris Lewis, Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) President Ryan Actherberg, IFC Secretary Conor Hoff, IFC Vice President of Programming and Lobby Corps member Aaron Giampetro, IFC Webmaster Cam Saul, SOS Staff Member Ryan Doody, Marketing and Business Club President Justin Waterman, Tandem Housing Viral Video Mastermind Brad Thorton, as well as dozens of current and former ASUCD Coffee House employees and supervisors.
We are proud to have been named IFC House of the Year, as well as IFC Philanthropy of the Year and IFC Greek Man of the Year for the past two years (Trevor Taylor and Andy Bianchi). This last year, we have also won the Peterson Significant Chapter Award, recognizing the best Sigma Chi chapters in the nation, and the Northern California Sigma Chi Chapter of the Year award.
We are the reigning champions of Alpha Phi's King of Hearts competition and of Pi Kappa Alpha's Kings of Campus competition. Our annual Derby Days philanthropy raised over $12,000 for the Children's Miracle Network, and had outstanding participation by every single Panhellenic sorority. Our several other yearly philanthropies, such as Carving for Kids, have raised significant money as well. We pride ourselves in giving back to the community, and participate in many other philanthropies (we took 2nd in Arrowjam last year). We have IM sports teams that consistently place in the top of their leagues.
We maintain one of the most active social calendars in Davis, including events such as brotherhood poker nights and camping trips, yet maintain a GPA that is consistently near the top of IFC GPAs.
We are a group of individuals with a different talents and interests, but maintain the strongest friendship and brotherhood.
